Vienna Conference on EU Defense Policy

We are pleased to share that we planned yet another conference this year. And this time, we are going international.

The conference brings together the Austrian (ÖGER), Czech (CSESP), and Italian (AISDUE) Associations of EU Law a timely discussion on the evolving legal and institutional framework of EU defence policy.

The Vienna Conference on EU Defense Policy is taking place on 15 December 2026 at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna (Juridicum).

You can find the programme attached. As for the Czech speakers, Anna Blechová will talk about her research on hybrid threats, Thomas Müller will talk about his experience with military public procurement from the Government Agent’s Office and Michal Říha with Pavel Linzer will present their research on primary framework of EDP. You can also see some more familiar names on the programme, such as Michal Bobek or Iris Goldner Lang!

European Defense Policy is and will be a timely topic. 🇪🇺 And it contains so many different aspects. We tried to cover it from a couple of perspectives. From hybrid threats coming from virtual space to military mobility on the ground; from the possibilities of the EU primary framework to the Member States’ point of view. We also included the economic aspect of EDP – competition law, public procurement or the free movement rights.
